A Lesson in Greater Than Less Than
Friday, March 30th, 2007At my store we sell modular shelving and drawers. They are all on display. Some of the displays have price tags on them. Some do not. This way, customers have to be told that they are modular and there are different combinations of drawers or sizes that would make for different prices.
So I was working in this area of the store and a woman who squinted her eyes like Mr. Magoo looked at me and asked, “How much for these drawers?”
Before launching into a full explanation of the different options with the drawers, I told her, “It’s a little under $100.”
She pumped her eyebrows up and down and excitedly countered with, “You mean like $99.95?”
